Missions & Core Beliefs

Our mission at Carolina Equestrian is to help you build the best possible connection with your equine partner at any level or in any discipline. The tranquility of our pastoral setting, coupled with our peaceful reserve, is an important ingredient for developing harmony in and out of the saddle.

Our approach focuses on the principles of natural horsemanship. We believe cultivating a trusting and accepting relationship with your horse is possible through both mindfulness and patience. The key to success in whatever your equine goal may be is to be conscious of why horses behave the way they do. You must understand what triggers their behavior so that you can anticipate their reactions and respond accordingly. By becoming more present with your horse, any reluctance and fear will not hamper the wonderful bond that will ensue.

About Us

Carolina Equestrian is situated on 30 acres of pine forest and rolling pasture. Dubbed the “Golf Coast,” Carolina and the surrounding Richmond area boasts 8 pristine and challenging golf courses, all within 5 miles of the property. Charlestown’s gorgeous 9 mile long beach is a 10 minute drive and offers some of the best bass and blue fishing in the Northeast. The property abuts the 3,400 acre Game Management Area as well as DEM’s trout hatchery, the second oldest in the country. There is seasonal deer and wild turkey hunting, hiking, mountain bike riding and of course horseback riding. Canoeing and kayaking are activities minutes away through the scenic inland waterways that flow into the Atlantic. Our location is only 5 miles from Interstate 95, a short drive to Historic Wakefield and Narragansett, Newport, Providence and T.F. Green Airport are also close by.

Directions to Our Facilities
When driving from 95, take exit 3A onto 138 East. Drive 2.2 miles and then take a right after the golf course onto Route 112. After driving for 2.6 miles, take a right onto Pine Hill Road. Carolina Equestrian is on the right, across from the cemetery. If you are coming from the east, we strongly advise you to avoid Shannock Hill Road because of its very steep and winding hill if you are pulling a horse trailer.
